110 Year Celebration Campaign

Celebrate the 110th Year of Tau Epsilon Phi 1910 ten students from Columbia University founded TEP in response to those fraternities that refused membership to minority members. These ten founding fathers of Tau Epsilon Phi, Robert L. Blume, Julius M. Breitenbach, Charles M. Driesen, Ephraim Freedman, Leo H. Fried,Harold Goldsmith, Samuel Greenbaum, Julius Klauber, Israel Schwartz, and Julius J. Slofkin committed themselves to realize a fraternity. Since that time, TEP has been a bastion of inclusion for all young men dedicated to promoting and following its ideals.  For 110 years, every brother has cherished their memories, these recollections combine to illustrate the core of what Tau Epsilon Phi encompasses. So, in honor of that 110th year, the TEP Foundation has created a Virtual Museum on its website, the foundation is asking members to contribute their experiences to build this new addition. If youhave a story, old photos, or images of unique mementos please share them on the TEP foundations site.“We want to collect those written memories, anecdotes, and photos from the perspective of the brothers and give a voice to both our individual and collective history. The TEP Foundation wants to memorialize and share the testimonies of Tau Epsilon Phi in a way that only members can,” said Alan Ledewitz TEP Foundation President and a past recipient of the Doc Schwartz Memorial award. As we embark on this collection of histories, we also ask for you to take a moment to donate to the foundation. These donations provide important scholarships and leadership training we couldn’t undertake without them. On the impact of these donations, Bryan Meyer wrote, “The TEP Foundation honored me with the Undergraduate of the Year award when I was in college, which meant the world to me. The scholarship allowed me to put the funds towards my Chapter Dues, but more importantly, it was humbling to be recognized for the friendship, chivalry, and service that I exemplified. While many other undergraduates are worthy of this award, it was an honor to receive it and I hope we can continue to give out more scholarships to our well-deserving and accomplished undergraduates.”  Unlike in the past, we will not be issuing a challenge in honor of the 110th year. It’s important forus that brothers can donate as little or as much as they prefer. In keeping with the founding purpose of Tau Epsilon Phi, we are inclusive.
